DictPrivate dictation for the Mac
Hold a key. Talk. Let go.
Say what you want to type and the words land wherever your cursor is. Speech recognition, cleanup and history all run on your Mac, so your voice never goes anywhere.
14 days free, then $9.99 once. No subscription. For Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 26 or later.
What you get
Dictation that stays on your Mac
Audio, transcripts and history stay on the machine. No account, no server, no analytics. Even your license is checked offline.
Messages, documents, code editors, terminals, search boxes. If there's a cursor, Dict can type into it.
Apple's speech works the moment you install. NVIDIA's Parakeet is a one-time download that's better with names and jargon.
Clean mode drops the ums and keeps your corrected version when you change your mind mid-sentence. Polished fixes small slips.
Dict spells names, acronyms and identifiers the way they already appear in the field you're typing into.
A small glowing panel while you talk, five color schemes, and a history of everything you've said.
